Total 44 child sexual abuse cases were reported to the authority in the month of February, says Ministry of Gender and Family.
In a statement issued last Tuesday, the Ministry of Gender and Family said a staggering 117 cases of child abuse were reported to the authority in February; the highest percentage of which were sexual abuse cases.
Sexual abuse: 44 cases
Physical abuse: 30 cases
Negligence: 18 cases
Emotional abuse: 9 cases
Cyber bullying: 5 cases
Bullying: 5 cases
Abandonment: 3 cases
Witness to domestic violence: 3 cases
The ministry said 13 cases involving child offenders were reported to the authority in February; including 5 assault cases and 2 drug-related cases.
29 family cases involving children were reported to the authority in February; 12 cases involving support, 10 cases involving guardianship, and 6 cases involving failure to pay child support.
