Bill to downsize Supreme Court bench sent to committee

Contentious government legislature to downsize the Supreme Court bench from seven to five justices was sent to the Judiciary Committee for amendments on Monday, despite calls from the opposition as well as the from within the ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) itself to reject the bill. The amendment to the Judicature Act was sponsored by Holhudhoo MP Abdul Sattar Mohamed. The bill
