Nomination opened for prestigious Youth Awards 2025

The Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Community Empowerment has announced the opening of nominations for the annual Youth Awards, a significant initiative designed to acknowledge and foster the invaluable contributions of young Maldivians to the nation's progress across diverse sectors.

The Youth Award program aims to underscore the critical role played by youth in national development, encouraging them to cultivate qualities of usefulness, productivity, and responsibility within society. Recipients of this esteemed award will be presented with a special Youth Award trophy and a certificate of recognition.

To be eligible, applicants must be under 36 years of age and have demonstrated continuous service in their chosen sector for a minimum of five years. This age and service requirement applies to all categories, with the sole exception of the Shaheed Jawad Umar award.

This year's Youth Awards will honor exceptional achievements across 14 distinct categories, reflecting the broad spectrum of youth engagement.

  • Arts and Culture - Revival of Art and Culture

  • Working Against Drugs

  • Vocational Training - Teaching

  • Working to Build Mental Health

  • Working to Protect the Environment

  • Working to Establish Class Equality

  • Working to Empower People with Disabilities

  • Working to Revive the Dhivehi Language

  • Technical Field - Technology Field

  • The Tourism Sector

  • Construction and Infrastructure Sector

  • To Recognize Those Who Are Serving to Promote and Empower Youth

  • Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts Minister's Special Award

  • Memorial Plaque of Shaheed Jawad Umar

Prospective applicants are urged to submit their completed application forms before the deadline of 13:00 on September 29th.

Application forms for the Youth Award are readily accessible through multiple channels: the official Youth Ministry website, Google Link, and at the Social Centre. In-person applications will be accepted during regular office hours, from 8:30 to 14:00, on working days. For the convenience of online applicants, submissions can also be made via the ministry's official email address: [email protected].

The Youth Award program was initially established in 2016 by former President Abdullah Yameen, and has since grown into a highly anticipated annual event celebrating the achievements of the nation's youth.
