Data from Maldives Zakat House shows that in June, the largest health-related financial assistance for low-income citizens was directed toward transplant treatment.
Maldives Zakat House, that manages and operates the national Zakat Fund recurrently spends towards the needs of low-income citizens every month. Zakat House releases statistics each month showing how the funds were utilized.
According to Zakat House report for June 2025, a total of over MVR 1.76 million was arranged towards 104 individuals that fit within the low-income bracket, while MVR 1.1 million was the exact figure spent during the review month.
Highest disbursement during the review month was made towards transplant treatment, with a total of MVR 796,443 extended to patients who required this treatment.

The fund is utilized for other causes besides assisting locals with their medical urgencies, such as grants extended to enhance religious education including Hifz (which is the memorization of Quran).
