The Maldives government and the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica signed the agreement on Mutual Exemption of Visa Requirements for their respective citizens. The agreement was signed on Wednesday, July 9th.
The agreement allows for the exemption of visas of the nationals of both the Maldives and Dominica, for a 30-day period.
The Permanent Representative of the Maldives to United Nations, Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed signed the agreement on behalf of the Maldives government and his Dominican counterpart, Philbert Aaron signed on behalf of the Dominican government.
The signing ceremony was held in New York, at the Permanent Mission of Maldives.
This agreement is aimed at opening new opportunities for both nations and enhance deeper engagement and increased people-to-people exchange between the Maldives and Dominica.
