Male’ City Council has ordered the removal of items such as garbage and pallets on Male’ roads obstructing the movement of pedestrians and vehicles.
In an announcement published on the government gazette on Monday, Male’ City Council said It has been receiving a large number of complaints over increased garbage and pallets on Male’ roads and other public areas.
Henceforth, the Council has ordered to remove such items from the roads by 18:00pm on Sunday.
It also appealed for cooperation from the public in their efforts to ensure roads are easily accessible to pedestrians and vehicles and a clean and safe places for all.
The Council also warned that they will identify and take action against individuals discarding items such as garbage on the roads. In this trajectory, they emphasized that discarding any kind of item on the roads was prohibited.
The issue of discarding waste on Male’ roads surfaces once in a while. The Council has previously identified and fined such individuals.
Notably, Male’ City Council undertakes significant efforts to ensure the cleanliness of Male’ roads.
