Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) is set to diversify its operations by launching building demolition services next year.
An official from WAMCO told Sun on Saturday morning that the corporation will launch the new service during the first quarter of next year.
He said that the corporation is currently engaged in talks with relevant authorities regarding making packages and setting rates.
The official added that the corporation is also conducting research, and will be hiring employees for the new service.
“We are currently doing research and recruiting people. We are conducting an internal research regarding this,” said the official.
The official noted that WAMCO already provides waste collection services at demolition sites.
Back in May, WAMCO announced it was launching office cleaning services as part of efforts to expand its services.
WAMCO is a state-owned enterprise established in 2017. Back then, its provided waste collection services in the greater Male’ area, but later expanded its services to the atolls, including residential islands and resorts.
