The Deputy Managing Director of Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO), Shaheed Ibrahim was terminated from his position on Saturday.
WAMCO confirmed this to ‘Sun’ Online, and added the government decided on his termination.
Shaheed was appointed as the second-in-command of WAMCO earlier in April 23rd and his removal has come not even a year into his post.
Earlier on September 17th the former Deputy Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation, Ibrahim Naaif was appointed as a Deputy MD of WAMCO. Besides Naaif, former MP Mohamed Abdul Kareem is a Deputy MD of WAMCO as well.
Shaheed previously served in the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) and later was a member of the senate council of the People’s National Congress (PNC).
