Deans have been appointed to Maldives National University (MNU)’s faculties.
The deans were appointed to the posts during a special ceremony held at the university on Tuesday.
Four individuals were appointed as deans on Tuesday. They are: Captain Mohamed Zaidh as Dean of Centre for Maritime Studies, Fathimath Nasiha Abdul Muhaimin as Dean of Centre for Foundation Studies, Sama Ibrahim Didi as Controller of Examination and Ashiya Leela Ahmed as Dean of Students.
All appointees apart from Sama were appointed for a second term while Sama was appointed Controller of Examination for the first time ever.
In the past eight years, Sama has filled various managerial posts including Villa College’s Institute for Academic Development’s Manager and Department of Public Examination’s Assistant Examination Officer.
Captain Zaidh has worked aboard local and foreign vessels from 1997 to 2019. He has served as a lecturer and Maldives Institute of Nautical Science. His reappointment as Dean of Centre of Maritime Studies marks his second term.
Nasiha who reappointed Dean of Centre for Foundation joined the university in 2011. Her reappointment marks her second term.
Ashiya who was reappointed as Dean of Students for a second term joined the university in 1996. Prior to this, she held the posts of Teacher instructor and Assistant Lecturer at Faculty of Education.
MNU congratulated all four individuals who were appointed to the posts.
