Holhudhoo Council’s president Rilwan Mohamed told Sun that the island was currently making funeral arrangements. He said that Zakiyya would be buried after the noon prayer.
Local sources who spoke to Sun reported that Zakiyya suffered from mental health issues, for which she sought professional help. However, this has not been confirmed by her family or official channels.
According to one source, Zakiyya was seen talking and interacting with other people, shortly before she was found collapsed inside the storeroom of her home, with wounds on her throat and a knife on the ground near her body.
