Naifaru parents protest as school teacher embroiled in sex scandal

Parents in Lh. Naifaru launched a protest on Thursday, following allegations that an Islam teacher at the island’s Madhrasathul Ifthithaah was involved in immoral behavior.

One of the parents told Sun that the teacher was previously suspended after nude pictures he took leaked on the internet.

The parent claimed that the Education Ministry later dropped the case citing lack of evidence.

She said that the teacher was involved in a similar incident again, two days back.

“The parents are unhappy that he continues to come to school,” she said.

The school’s parents, who say they are unhappy to have someone involved in such immoral behavior teach their children, gathered outside the Madhrasathul Ifthithaah’s gates to protest at around 08:30 am Thursday.

The parent who spoke to Sun said that the teacher was sent home in response to the protest.

Neither the Education Ministry nor Madhrasathul Ifthithaah were immediately available for comment regarding the case.
