Expatriate woman dies after drowning while diving off Hulhumale’

An expatriate woman has died after drowning while diving off Hulhumale’ on Friday.

Police, in a message to the media, identified the woman who died while diving off Hulhumale’ as a 55-year-old Thai national.

The incident, which took place at approximately 11:00am this morning, is under investigation by the Police.

Maldives, an island nation surrounded by the sea, periodically records cases of drowning while at sea. Some of these cases have seen the deaths of tourists as well.
