Boy who drowned in Addu’s Feydhoo dies mid-treatment

A young boy who fell into Addu City’s Feydhoo Swimming Track has passed away.

A search operation commenced for the boy who went missing while eating out with his family at a restaurant near Feydhoo Swimming Track commenced around 6:00pm on Friday evening. During search efforts, he was spotted in waters. 

He was first treated at Feydhoo Health Centre after being rescued. He died in Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) where he was being treated later. 

The boy has been identified as Mohamed Ayaan Abdulla, a UKG student studying at Feydhoo School.

Education Ministry has sent condolences to Ayaan’s family following his passing.
