62-year-old arrested from a safari with over 200 alcohol bottles

Police, on Thursday night, have arrested a 62-year-old with over 200 bottles of alcohol during a search of a safari docked off K. Maafushi.

Police said the person was arrested during an operation carried out last night based on a tip received to Police Intelligence informing of the illegal sale of alcohol at a safari docked off Maafushi.

Over 200 alcohol bottles and cans were seized by the Police during their search of the safari.

A 62-year-old Maldivian man was arrested in connection to the case.

The operation was conducted by Maafushi Police Station in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Department, Forensic Department, Marine Police and Police Intelligence.

The case is under investigation by the Police.
