Vilu Reef's unique approach marking Oceans Day

Sun Siyam Vilu Reef kicked off its commemoration of World Oceans Day uniquely, officiating the celebrations with a meeting in the sea.

The resort's HODs and Assistant HODs gathered at the resort's lagoon on Saturday morning for their daily meeting.

Vilu Reef and Dh. Meedhoo island council collaborated to kick off a poster competition among Meedhoo students, held under four categories.

First place winner of the competition, Manar Mohamed Rasheed, won a two-day full-board stay at a beach villa in Vilu Reef.

Besides this, Vilu Reef held various water sports activities in collaboration with Sun Siyam Care and Meedhoo council.

Participants got the chance to experience fun and exciting fun-tube and jetski rides, kayaking and other water sports activites that kicked off at the resort on 09:00hrs lasting until 12:00hrs.

Several children and families participated in the activities, enjoying a fun-filled morning among loved ones.

The theme of this year's World Oceans Day is 'Catalyzing Action for Our Ocean and Climate'. The World Oceans Day is celebrated on June 08th every year.
