Kadhdhoo records highest rainfall in last 24hrs with 135mm

L. Kadhdhoo recorded the heaviest rainfall over the last 24 hours, as bad weather continues to prevail across the Maldives.

According to information released by the Maldives Meteorological Service on early Tuesday, Kadhdhoo recorded the heaviest rainfall over the last 24 hours with 135.7 millimeters of rain.

Meanwhile, Adh. Maamigili recorded 109.5 millimeters, while F. Nilandhoo recorded 59.3 millimeters of rain.

The national weather agency says the bad weather will prevail across the Maldives over the next 24 hours, with heavy rain, thunderstorms, and gusts of up to 40 miles per hour.

Seas are expected to be moderately rough.

The Meteorological Service has urged seafarers not to embark on journeys during heavy rain, and to check the latest weather updates.

A white alert is in place across the country.
