Foreigner arrested from Via released

The foreigner arrested from Velana International Airport (VIA) on Tuesday morning for attacking an airport staff has been released.

The video viral on social shows the foreigner assaulting an airport staff near the checking counters at VIA's terminal. Immediately after, he pushes another staff who attempts to intervene.

Maldives Police Service said the court gave the foreigner a conditional bail at the remand hearing on Tuesday. 

An official speaking with 'Sun' said they cannot disclose additional information about the incident at the time.

So far, it is unclear what led to the altercation between the foreigner and the staff.
