Nomination for 2024 National Awards open

The National Awards Committee on Tuesday, has opened nominations for this year's National Awards.

President's Office said the application process for the award commenced Tuesday and will continue until May 30th, 2024.

For this year, nominations for the National Awards have been opened by adding two new categories.

The first category recognizes outstanding contributions to foster the elements and ideals of Maldivian nationhood.

The Committee will take into consideration efforts made by individuals and organizations to further the elements, ideals, and values of Maldivian nationhood within the framework of the Islamic Maldivian identity, with a commitment to fostering and sustaining core Maldivian principles and promoting nation-building, the betterment of civic, community, and citizen affairs, thought leadership, science and technology, and the arts and creative industries.

The second category recognizes exceptional, long-standing services in various fields.

The National Award of Honour and the National Award of Recognition are conferred as the National Awards.

Recipients of the National Award of Honour will be presented with commemorative shields, badges, and a certificate by the President.

On the other hand, recipients of the National Awards of Recognition will be presented with commemorative plaques and certificates by the President.

Application form to nominate for this year's National Awards can be submitted online through the portal http://apply.presidency.gov.mv or in writing to the President's Office.
