Police, in the early hours of Thursday morning, rescued a 32-year-old who was drowning at the sea off Vilimale’ barbeque area.
As per the police, the incident was reported to the authority at approximately 12:31 early Thursday morning. The woman was immediately rescued with the assistance of the police officer and taken to Vilimale’ Hospital.
Police said she has now been transferred to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in capital Male’ City for further treatment.
They added that the woman has been handed over to her family.
Police also noted that the officer who had assisted in rescuing the woman had to have been treated after inhaling water in the process.
