Maldivians can now apply for Schengen visa to France, Spain, Portugal from VFS Male'

The Foreign Ministry has announced that Maldivian travelers can now apply for Schengen visa to three more European countries; France, Spain and Portugal.

According to the Foreign Ministry, applications for Schengen visa from the three new countries opened at the VFS Global Joint Schengen Visa Application Center (VFS Center) in Male’ on Sunday.

The VFS Center opened in Male’ City on March 1, 2020.

Through the center, Maldivian travelers can now apply for Schengen visa to total nine European countries.

This includes, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, Poland, Luxemburg, and Slovenia.

According to the 2023 Henley Passport Index, Maldivian passport holders can travel to 94 destinations without requiring a prior visa.
