Robber who attacked elderly Hanimaadhoo man remanded for 7 days

The suspect arrested for beating and robbing an elderly man in his home in HDh. Hanimaadhoo has been remanded in custody of the police for a week.

The crime took place at around 11:45 pm on Monday.

The suspect broke into the home of the victim, a 63-year-old man who lives alone, and beat him up and robbed him.

The police arrested a 25-year-old male in connection to the case.

A police spokesperson said on Thursday that the Hanimaadhoo Magistrate Court remanded him in custody of the police for seven days.

The victim, a person with disabilities, was treated at the Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital for the injuries he sustained in the attack.
