An agreement was signed on Wednesday for the development of 300 housing units in Sh. Komandoo within a period of 10 months.
The project was awarded to Rasheed Carpentry and Construction Private Limited (RCC).
The agreement pertaining to the project was signed during a special ceremony held at the Housing Ministry on Wednesday afternoon. Director General of Housing Department Ahmed Vishan Naseem signed the agreement on behalf of Housing Ministry while Projects Director Adam Raheem signed the agreement on behalf of RCC.
The project valued at MVR 40.9 million is funded from the government PSIP budget for the year.
The scope of work under the project includes the construction of 30 two-floor row houses measuring 700 square feet. Each unit will comprise of three rooms, three bathrooms, one sitting room, one kitchen and a laundry and storeroom.
A park and a vehicle parking area will also be developed as part of the project.
