Man wanted for attacking residents of Male' home arrested after surrendering to police

The man wanted by the police for forcing himself into an apartment in Male’, and threatening and attacking the apartment’s residents with weapons has been arrested after he surrendered himself.

Police made an announcement on Tuesday seeking public assistance to locate Ibrahim Sameen, 34, Dhethandimaage, R. Maduvvari, for a case under investigation by the Serious and Organized Crime Department.

According to police, Sameen, along with a group of others, had forced their way into an apartment in Male’ City and threatened the residents of the apartment with a sharp-edged weapon, and attacked them with “dangerous weapons”.

They also destroyed private property.

The incident in question took place on May 2.

The police said they had a warrant for Sameen’s arrest.
