Fire breaks out at speedboat in Male’ lagoon

A fire broke out at a speedboat docked at Male’ lagoon on Monday.

The fire broke out at a speedboat docked at jetty number seven, in front of Bank of Maldives; (BML) headquarters.

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) reported it was not a severe fire. They detailed that the fire broke out at the speedboat’s engine, which had been already controlled by the time firemen arrived at the scene.

Bystanders at the scene reported having heard a loud explosion amidst the fire.

A speedboat docked at M. Dhiggaru lagoon exploded on last Tuesday evening which resulted in two aboard at the time sustaining serious injuries including severe burns.
