Fenaka Corporation has launched smart meter services on Saturday.
The service was officially launched by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih during a function held on Saturday at GA. Nilandhoo to inaugurate the island’s new powerhouse and its administrative building.
Fenaka said that the modern technology which will be utilized in providing the service will track electricity usage, alongside its details, in real-time.
Apart from this, Fenaka said that daily statistics of electricity usage can be viewed through mobile phones – which will allow customers to adjust their electricity usage per their liking, effectively cutting down the wastage of electricity.
Fenaka is providing smart meter service with assistance from China’s Yantai Dongfang Wisdom Electric. Yantai, under an agreement, is manufacturing and supplying smart meters to Fenaka and providing training to its staff.
The utility company also revealed its goal to introduce prepaid electricity meters in the Maldives.
