Planning Ministry, on Monday, awarded harbor development projects at HDh. Finey and M. Muli to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
The agreements pertaining to the projects were signed during a special ceremony held at Planning Ministry on Monday, with Director General Fathmath Shaana Farooq representing Planning Ministry, and CEO, Managing Director Adam Azim representing MTCC.
HDh. Finey harbor development project
The project valued at MVR 47 million will comprise of;
Harbor basin dredging operations of 41,332.31 cubic meters
Channel dredging operations of 5,949.05 cubic meters
Construction of a 219-meter breakwater
Construction of an 82-meter revetment
Construction of 25-meter groyne
Construction of a 248-meter quay wall
Installation of harbor pavement in a 2,198 square meter area
Installation of 19 street lights and 2 navigational lights
Construction of a 90-square meter ramp
Installation of 10 mooring buoys
This project is to be completed within 450 days.
M. Muli harbor development project
The project valued at MVR 65 million will comprise of;
Harbor basin dredging operations of 33,888 cubic meters
Channel dredging operations of 6,254 cubic meters
Construction of a 213-meter standfill breakwater
Construction of an 89-meter revetment
Construction of a 479-meter quay wall
Installation of harbor pavement in a 2,370 square meter area
Installation of 27 street lights and 2 navigational lights
Construction of a 100-square meter ramp
Construction of access platform
Installation of 10 mooring buoys
3-metre concrete bridge
The project is to be completed within 550 days.
During Monday’s ceremony, MTCC was also contracted for a shore protection project at R. Rasmaadhoo for MVR 17 million.
The project which must be completed within 210 days comprises of constructing 157-meters of revetment, 45-meters of t-gryone in addition to 43-meters of gryone.
