Two classrooms built at Foakaidhoo School through Japan’s grant assistance

Two classrooms built at Sh. Foakaidhoo School has been through grant assistance from the Japanese government has been handed over to the school.

The project was carried out under a grant agreement signed between the Japanese Embassy in the Maldives and Foakiadhoo School on February 20, 2020.

Japanese government provided USD 85.522 in grant assistance for the project under Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP) scheme.

The main aim of the project is to establish the required facilities to provide quality education for students.

Japan Embassy underscored the support by Education Ministry and Foakaidhoo School in implementing the project.

GGP is a part of the Japanese Official Development Assistance (ODA) implemented by the Embassy of Japan in Maldives in order to empower people at the grassroots level since 1996. It is implemented in broad areas such as education, environment, health, transportation and energy with the view of contributing to the sustainable development of the Maldives.
