RTL bus service launches in three southern atolls

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has launched Raajje Transport Link (RTL) bus service in the three southernmost atolls of Maldives.

RTL bus service was launched in Addu City, Fuvahmulah City, L. Gan (and linked islands), and L. Isdhoo and L. Kalaidhoo on Sunday.

MTCC said that it is currently testing the routes, and that commuters can therefore travel on the buses free of charge until August 14.

RTL bus service is free of charge for children under the age of three years, school students, people with disabilities, and people above the age of 65 years.

MTCC had brought in 41 new buses to expand its RTL bus service. Two buses are being used in L. Isdhoo and L. Kalaidhoo, four in L. Gan, four in Fuvahmulah City, and 13 in Addu City.

The buses are airconditioned, and can seat 20 passengers.
