Ex-Journo Naseer arrested for homosexuality remanded for 10 days

 Former reporter at RaajjeTV Abdulla Naseer arrested for homosexuality charges has been remanded for 10 days.

Naseer, 28, was arrested on Friday, July 29.

His arrest is linked to a video leaked on social media in June, that allegedly showed him performing sexual acts on another man. The video is among numerous other leaks, and the Police have linked it all to a blackmail ring as well.

While the Police have not named him, the Police spokesperson confirmed that a 28-year-old Maldivian man has been arrested in connection to the case. Moreover, they confirmed that the man arrested under a court order has been remanded for 10 days.

Other suspects arrested in connection to leaked sex videos include Ahmed Nazim Abdul Sattar, 46, a prominent lawyer and younger brother of Parliament speaker, former president Mohamed Nasheed, former Nolhivaram MP Mohamed Nasheed (Colonel Nasheed), 45, and Abdul Rahman Rafeeu, 35, a police officer working for the Drug Enforcement Department (DED).

Nazim, Colonel and Rafeeu were on videos allegedly showing them having sex with MD Alamgiri, a Bangladeshi sex worker. Alamgiri was arrested by police on July 12.
