Ibrahim Mohamed Didi appointed as STELCO’s chairman

Former Central Hithadhoo MP Ibrahim Mohamed Didi has been appointed as State Electric Company Limited’s (STELCO) chairman.

Via a tweet this evening, Privatization and Corporatization Board announced that Ibrahim Mohamed Didi has been designated as a board member of STELCO; as well as the company’s chairman.  

STELCO had welcomed the appointment of MNDF’s Brigadier General (Rtd) Ibrahim Mohamed Didi as the company’s chairman.

Ibrahim Mohamed Didi has been appointed as STLECO’s chairman due to vacancy arising following the death of former chairman, Mohamed Rasheed, in December last year.

Mohamed Rasheed, 71, died at the ADK Hospital in Male’ City, following hospitalization after suffering a heart attack. 

He worked at STELCO for over 50 years. 

He joined the state utility company in 1971 as an apprentice. He first worked as an engineer, and rose up the ranks to serve as Deputy Managing Director, Chief Executive Office, and Chairman.
