Justice Suood as President of Judges Association of Maldives

Supreme Court Justice Husnu Al Suood has been appointed as the President of the Judges Association of Maldives.

The decision was made by the association’s executive committee.

Suood has accepted the appointment and taken over the role of President of the association.

The position was left vacant after Judge Abdul Rauf, who was filling the position resigned from the High Court.

The request to create an association under the name Judges’ Association was put forth in 2019.

The Judicial Administration has previously said that the association was created under the rights granted to judges by the Judges Act.
