Man injured in Vilingili marine accident transported overseas

The man who sustained critical injuries in a speedboat accident on GA. Vilingili harbor channel last month has been transported overseas for further treatment.

The accident on May 21 resulted in two deaths; Misbah Abdul Muhsin, 37, Dhoores, GA. Vilingili, and Mohamed Shafiu, 27, Uraha, N. Landhoo.

Three more men sustained injuries and were transported to Male’ City for treatment. One of them, Is'haq Abdul Muhsin, 30, whose elder brother Misbah died in the accident, was put on a ventilator.

Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH)’s spokesperson told Sun on Thursday afternoon said that the 30-year-old man who was treated at the hospital’s ICU has been transported overseas for further treatment.

The spokesperson said that doctors did not share the date on which or the country to which he was transferred.

“Three people were brought in with injuries. Two of them were discharged. The man in the ICU has been transported overseas for further treatment,” said the spokesperson.

IGMH reports the man’s condition was stable.
