The national airline, Maldivian has decided to hold a special flight at reduced fares to Malaysia for the upcoming Eid holidays.

Maldivian’s Deputy Managing Director Aishath Jennifer told Sun on Thursday morning that the airline will be operating a 200-seat flight to Malaysia for Eid, and plan on increasing flights depending on the demand.

Jennifer said the first flight will leave for Malaysia at 01:20 pm on April 28, and return to Maldives on May 7.

Ticket fares start at USD 399 for a round trip.

“This is a great opportunity. Many people have been unable to visit their families because Malaysia’s borders were closed for so long,” said Jennifer.

Malaysia reopened its borders to international travelers after the COVID-19 pandemic on April 1.
