Power outages in parts of Male’ and Hulhumale’

Parts of Male’ City and suburban Hulhumale’ experienced power outages on Thursday morning.

State Electric Company (STELCO) said in a statement that the power outages were caused by a technical issue.

“We are working on resolving the issue and restoring power as soon as possible,” said the state utility company.

STELCO apologized to customers for the inconvenience.

Male’ and Hulhumale’ are now powered from STELCO’s powerhouse in Hulhumale’ via the Greater Male’ Grid.
