STO Supermart to be expanded and reopened for Ramadan

State Trading Organization’s (STO) Managing Director Hussain Amr has stated efforts were underway to expand STO People’s Choice Supermart by three folds, and reopen the place for public by this Ramadan.

Speaking at a television broadcast by Public Service Media (PSM), Amr said that when Supermart reopens after an expansion by three folds, private businesses will be able to conduct business there as well.

He also detailed that when the Supermart reopens this time, STO Home Improvement located near Customs area will also be moved to STO Trade Center.

Commenting on the fact that private businesses will be able to conduct business at the location, Amr said that they have already awarded a slot to a party that sells mobile phones and laptops on a wide scale in the Male’ City for the purpose.

“We have awarded a slot to a party that sells mobile phones and laptops on a wide scale in Male’ City. They will sell their products there,” Amr had said.

He added that shelves of parties carrying out businesses involving toiletries, cosmetics, bakeries, fruits and vegetables on a wide scale in Male’ City, will be displayed at the Supermart when it reopens this time.

“With this arrangement, businesses based there will gain a larger customer base, whilst having a desirable platform to sell their products,” Amr reasoned.
