Fenaka Corporation has stated that they have completed 99 percent of the work in isolating its powerhouses from residential areas.

Isolating powerhouses from residential areas is an electoral pledge of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

Fenaka Corporation’s Managing Director Ahmed Saeed Mohamed told Sun that powerhouses being located in residential areas significantly impact the health of those living in the area.

“All the smoke emitted. All the noise. The people were living in it. This is such a burden. There were many people living who could not hear the five prayer calls of every day,” he had said.

There is no access to safe drinking water in areas where powerhouses are located. However, Saeed said that most residents have been saved from this burden at present.

He added that one of the foremost priorities of the current administration is to ensure the safety of its people.

Saeed said that he believes the efforts to isolate the powerhouses from residential areas to be a success.

“What has been done is something that has not been done for the people in the past 40 years,” he added.

He said that a feat never achieved by any previous government was achieved due to President Solih’s humble policies.

Saeed also noted that Fenaka is being run significantly differently by this administration compared to that of previous administrations. On this note, he highlighted that only eight projects were carried out by the company during the last administration – whereas over 200 projects are being carried out in this administration.

He also added that although the company was running at a loss before – it had made a profit for the first time since inception during this administration.
