Mother under investigation for child abuse in Velidhoo

Police have launched an investigation into a case involving a woman in N. Velidhoo accused of physically abusing her young child.

A police spokesperson said a case involving child abuse in Velidhoo was reported to the authorities last Saturday. 

Police identified the suspect as the mother of the victim. 

The case is under investigation by the police in collaboration with the Gender Ministry. 

An official from Gender Ministry told Sun the child has been moved to a safe environment.
