Clemency Board records major increase in cases overseen

Clemency Board has revealed that they have concluded a large number of cases so far this year.

Statistics publicized by the Clemency Board show that they oversaw a total of 429 cases by the end of June. This is the greatest number of cases concluded by the board in the past 11 years.

Statistics also indicate that this is a 250% increase in the average number of cases overseen by the board in the past 11 years.

The Clemency Board was constituted by the President in accordance with the Clemency Act in order to prescribe clemency and pardon for convicted offenders.
