Tenth COVID-19 death recorded today, total at 139

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced the tenth death related to COVID-19 today, bringing the total number of deaths related to the virus in the Maldives to 139. 

This marks the highest number of deaths related to the virus recorded in a single day in the Maldives since the beginning of the pandemic. 

HPA said that the most recent fatality was a Japanese male aged 86-years who was receiving treatment at the Hulhumale' Medical Facility. 

The time of death was recorded as 19:53.

All of the previous deaths recorded today were Maldivian.
