HPA begins inspection of salons and spas in Male’ area

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has commenced an inspection of salons and spas in operation in the greater Male’ area.

As per HPA, the inspection which commenced on Monday, will continue through December 19th.

The inspection is aimed at assessing the cleanliness and hygiene standards of such establishments. HPA has appealed to d salon and spa owners to cooperate with the inspection process.

Notably, some salons and spas operated in Male’ area maintain poor cleanliness and hygiene standards. Some of them are also leveraged as a front for crimes.

On September 18th, Maldives Immigration raided salons and spas in operation in the greater Male’ area – seeking to identify illegal workers.

The agency inspected 22 such facilities and detained seven female expatriates who were found to have been working there in violation of regulations.
