COVID-19 deaths in Maldives increase to 138

Three more deaths have been reported in relation to COVID-19 in the Maldives. 

This brings the total death toll from the virus to 138. This is also the ninth death related to the virus reported today. 

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that an 87-year old local male who was receiving treatment at the Lh. Hinnavaru Health Center had passed away 11:05. This was the 136th death related to the virus.

HPA then announced the death of a 78-year old local woman who was admitted at the HMF. The time of death was reported at 14:50.  This was the 137th death. 

The third death was also a local female admitted at HMF aged 41-years. This was the 138th death related to the virus in the Maldives. 

As of recently, deaths related to the virus as well as positive case numbers are on the rise in the Maldives. In May alone, more than 60 deaths have been reported due to COVID-19.
