Education Ministry has made the decision to reopen schools in the greater Male’ region for face-to-face classes for students from LKG and above starting April 1.

Following a spike in COVID-19 cases in greater Male’, schools in the capital had been holding classes for students in lower grades virtually since February 12.

Classes for students from LKG to Grade 6 are held virtually, and schools are only open for face-to-face classes for students from Grade 7 to Grade 12.

Education Ministry announced this Thursday that starting April 1, classes for students from UKG and above will be held in schools.

The decision to reopen schools for face-to-face classes comes after authorities eased some of the restrictions in the capital, including lifting a 6:00 pm – 06:00 am ban on vehicular traffic and reopening public parks.
