Information Commissioner Fiyaz resigns

Hussain Fiyaz Moosa has tendered his resignation has Information Commissioner, less than two years into his term.

President’s Office spokesperson Mabrook Azeez confirms the resignation.

Mabrook told Sun the President’s Office received Fiyaz’s letter of resignation this Sunday.

His resignation comes after his involvement in Adhadhu – a local newspaper preparing to launch soon – came to light.

Fiyaz, a veteran reporter who went on to serve as CEO of local television channel RaajjeTV, was appointed as Information Commissioner on October 31, 2019.
