COVID-19: 84-year old passes away, 54th death

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced the death of an 84-year old infected with COVID-19.

HPA tweeted that a COVID-19 patient hospitalized in the DH11 Facility OF Dharumavantha Hospital in Male' City passed away today at 20:20..

HPA identified the deceased as a Maldivian male.

“This is the 54th COVID-19 death in the Maldives,” announced HPA.

Maldives has 16,276 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 99 new cases recorded last night. 178 of the patients are hospitalized.

This is the third virus death within a week.
