Met Office warns of 48-hour spell of bad weather

Maldives Meteorological Services (Met Office) has warned of impending bad weather for most of the country for the next 48 hours. 

Met office said that the persisting trough over the region could result in fairly widespread rainfall with occasional showers and thunderstorms.

Met Office also warned that strong winds could be experienced in areas between H. A. Atoll and A. Dh. Atoll. 

Caution is to be exercised by all travelers and sea goers during this spell of bad weather especially in areas of the central and northern atolls of the nation.

Met Office also warned that some islands could experience flooding and tidal waves due to the bad weather.
