Work Visas to be granted for Business, Special Visa holders

The government has made arrangements so that foreigners in the Maldives under Business Visa and Special Visa can be granted Work Visa under employment approvals. 

Maldives Immigration said that the move was to assist individuals who cannot depart from the Maldives due to the closed borders across the world in light of COVID-19. 

Immigration said that applicants must have a valid Business or Special Visa to be applicable for the Work Visa. The individuals must also have arrived in the Maldives before December 1 under a Business Visa. 

Those in the Maldives under Special Visa, include individuals working in organizations, clubs, and associations.

They are to arrange any amendments to their visa before June 30, 2021, under the set guidelines.
