Maldives’ COVID-19 death toll rises to 47

Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced on Tuesday that a COVID-19 patient hospitalized in the Hulhumale’ Medical Facility has passed away.

HPA identified the deceased as a 75-year-old Maldivian male.

He passed away at 07:49 am on Tuesday.

“This is the 47th #COVID19 death in the Maldives,” announced HPA.

Maldives has 13,011 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 17 new cases recorded on Monday. 11,939 patients have since recovered, and the country currently has 1,019 active cases.

95 of the patients are hospitalized.
