Naifaru lawmaker Shiyam hospitalized

Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) deputy leader, Naifaru MP Ahmed Shiyam was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment on Tuesday, following a sudden deterioration in his health while attending a parliamentary sitting.

Photos showing Shiyam exiting the Parliament with the assistance of fellow parliamentarians have been released over social media platforms.

PPM confirms Shiyam has been taken to the ADK Hospital. The party has yet to release details, stating only that the parliamentarian is undergoing tests.
