Home Minister Imran Abdulla has said that the work of the police under the current administration had put a stop to the bloodshed and violence observed in the country before.
The Minister was speaking in the ceremony to unveil the new police station in Hulhumale’ when he said that the work of the police under the current administration had ensured the safety of the citizens which was very much appreciated.
The result of this work had ceased the bloodshed and violence in the country observed before the current administration, said the Minister.
“The result of this had ensured the safety of the public in the last 17 years and ceased the bloodshed and violence.” Said Minister Imran.
The Minister added that the administration had high hopes for the police and that the administration saw it as a priority to provide the police with necessary resources.
Speaking regarding the public confidence and faith in the police force, the Minister said that it was the responsibility of every police officer to uphold the integrity and dignity of the institution. The Minister said that it was very sad that the actions of a few officers could cause anger and concern by the public towards the police.
He called on the public worked to work for the respect and compassion of the public by performing their individual responsibilities.
