Kagi Maldives Spa Island, Maldives’s first exclusive wellness island resort, is scheduled to open in September.
Kagi Maldives was developed by resort chain Champa & Crown Resorts in Kagi, a 2.5 hector uninhabited island located in North Male’ Atoll.
It is Maldives’ first resort island which will focus exclusively on health, fitness and wellness.
Designed by celebrated New York-based architectural firm Yuji Yamazaki Architecture PLLC, Kagi Maldives is a 50-room resort with 40 water pool villas and 10 beach pool villas.
The resort is a 60-minute speedboat ride away from Velana International Airport.
The resort has already been listed by Kuoni, one of UK’s leading travel and tour operators.
According to a survey conducted by Kuoni, 56 percent of its customers named Maldives as their dream destination.
Kagi Maldives was previously scheduled to open in July, put the opening date has now been pushed back to September.
In addition to Kagi Maldives, Crown & Champa Resorts’s properties include Hurawalhi Maldives, Kudadoo Maldives Private Island by Hurawalhi, Innahura Maldives Resort, Komandoo Maldives, Veligandu Island Resort & Spa, Kuredu Resort Maldives, Vilamendhoo Island Resort & Spa, Meeru Island Resort & Spa, and Champa Central Hotel – a city hotel located in Male’ City.
Maldives’ borders, which have been closed to tourists since March 27 due to the coronavirus pandemic, are scheduled to reopen in July.
